About Ashtanga

Ashtanga Yoga consists of a standard series of positions or asanas and the practice of connecting breath or vinyasa - flow with visual focal points or dhristis and internal energy locks or bandhas.

Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic and flowing practice. The breath links the body with the deepest part of the mind - the soul - and the soul of the Ashtanga practice is the breath. With the development of a long deep breath, the mind becomes calm and focused, and each movement flows gently and precisely from asana to asana through to the completion of the series. When breath and movement flow effortlessly in harmony, the practice of Ashtanga Yoga transcends consciousness and evolves into the lightness of a moving meditation.

The Ashtanga Yoga program offers regular daily classes for all levels, a monthly full primary workshop, and deepening workshops with international teachers.
