position: Medewerker, Teacher view schedule of Jose De Groot Ever since her childhood, classical and modern ballet have been José's passion. In her teenage years she became interested in psychology and philosophy and since then has become more engaged in self-development, increasing her awareness and enjoying the magic of the present moment. After studying Journalism and, in part Social Therapy, José worked for a few years as a therapist in various institutions in Holland. Unsatisfied with that line and method of work, she decided to look for a different and more holistic way of working with people. José started practicing yoga seriously in 2006, in Barcelona, and was greatly inspired by its potential for healing at a physical, emotional and spiritual level. She saw the possibilities of combining her interests, therapeutic and dance experiences with yoga classes. After a Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) of 200 hours Yoga Alliance (YA) in August 2006, she started teaching a mix of Hatha, Vinyasa and Vini Yoga (Yang Yoga) in Barcelona. At the end of 2006 she discovered Yin Yoga and since then, this has been her primary passion and specialization. José started teaching Yin Yoga classes in 2007. José's classes are guided in a warm, clear and hopefully humorous way, with compassion by adapting the practice where necessary to the student’s specific needs. She encourages you to experience, observe and become aware of your bodily sensations, emotions, quality of breath, intuition, thoughts and habitual patterns. Her goal is to stimulate you to discover, to strengthen and connect with your true self. José teaches mainly Yin Yoga classes, but also more dynamic styles (Hatha/Vinyasa/Vini/Power Yoga) in Amsterdam, Utrecht and Barcelona. She also offers several workshops, retreats and Yin Yoga Teacher Trainings all over Europe. José has completed several anatomy workshops and a Yin Yoga YTT (200hYA) with Paul Grilley, several workshops with Sarah Powers, a Vini Yoga training with T.K.V Desikachar (India) and a couple of Anusara Yoga immersions. José has also studied other styles of Yoga including Yoga Dinamico, Iyengar and Kriya Vajra Yoga. She is a regular practitioner of Vipassana and Shamatha Vipaysana meditation. Leanne Dix

Eva's passion for Yoga and Ayurveda started almost ten years ago whilst taking a course in Ayurveda-Yoga massage in Rome, her hometown. After experimenting with traditional Hatha Yoga and Pranayama, she went to Southern India on a few trips to deepen her yoga practice and Ayurvedic studies. Once back in Rome, she completed a two year Master in Ayurveda Massage at the Atharva Veda Center ( in cooperation with the Center for Study and Research of Naturopathy and Ayurveda of New Delhi, India). Here she met Denis Sciannimanica, who introduced her to Ashtanga Yoga. It was love at first sight and since then Ashtanga Yoga is part of her daily life. She has participated in workshops with Manju Jois, Clayton Horton and Gabriele Severini. In 2009 she moved to Amsterdam and started working with Ayurveda in massage centers and yoga schools. As she continued to deepen her yoga practice, she decided to join the 200hrs Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training given by Claudia Pradella and Janneke Verburg. Skadi Van Paasschen

At that time she suffered wrist injury and as a result of medical errors ended up in a long process of multiple operations. Though she kept on doing gymnastics with one arm she was unable to continue participating in competitions. The locomotor system thus became a point of special interest in her life. For her secondary school finals Skadi wrote a paper on ‘movement’, which she presented to an audience of some 100 people. Aged 18, she succeeded in engaging the entire audience in Chinese Tai Chi exercises. She continued studying Mensendieck-therapy and became a successful therapist. After working for several years Skadi grew dissatisfied with her work: it’s lack of creativity and depth. Getting involved with Yoga, she then found a method of movement, a way of life and a career that suits her perfectly. Martine Willems
