Sva-Dharma Yoga Teacher Training
Level 1: Foundation: "The body" (200+ hrs)

This first round of practice will be based on the Ashtanga Yoga path of the Patanjali Yoga Sutras and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. This foundation will give you experience and understanding of the yogic path. Starting from the most tangible we will later proceed to the most subtle; from the physical body (asanas / body postures) to the energy body, to the mind.

We will follow the tradition of Krishnamacharya, and the main core practice will be the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga system. It will be dissected and studied in-depth (Primary Series). We will be adding many other elements from the body of Hatha yoga practices.

Practices like kriyas (cleansing techniques), asana, breath awareness, basic pranayamas, visualization, introduction to mantras, introduction to meditation, will be presented and practiced within the course from the beginning.

We will at this stage give you the guidance and tools necessary to realize the need and urgency to make the leap into real commitment, real effort, real longing to awaken, which is the core of the yogi, what moves the yogi towards liberation, and it is from here that he/she can guide others.

We will acknowledge the different bodily and mental constitutions, by giving a brief introduction to Ayurveda.
In this phase you will undergo a profound realignment and purification of your physical body, experiencing already the results in your own energy and mental/emotional body.

When you have accomplished this first level with commitment and dedication, you will feel confident to share with others what you have learned through self -investigation and self practice.
