Your body and the practice of mindfulness
In mindfulness meditation we observe without judgment everything that comes to our attention, moment by moment. More important still than being mindful and aware is the felt sensation. That is what this workshop is about. Are we able to fully embody our felt sensations, can we experience the splendour of our lives to the full; here, now, at this moment?
We observe with the mind, but all thoughts, emotions and experiences are lived more fully when they are felt in the body too, at the very moment they occur. Mindfulness and yoga go hand in hand, our bodies and our yoga practice form the gateway to deeper awareness. When we meditate with the body rather than the head, our meditation experience becomes richer and more complete.
These two days offer an intense deepening of your yoga practice as well as an exploration of mindfulness as a meditation technique. You are introduced to Buddhist meditation techniques and the power of attentiveness and stillness. Day one will be about learning some basics of mindfulness meditation. Day two will be mostly silent, with the teacher guiding some exercises.
